Our Care
At Meadowside & St. Francis, care is built around the person — their needs, preferences and life story. Because many of our residents have complex needs, our approach is assessment-led, clinically supported and delivered by an experienced multidisciplinary team.
We provide specialist nursing care, complex residential care and respite support, with clear communication for families, commissioners and health professionals throughout.
Specialist Nursing Care
We provide 24-hour nursing care for people with complex clinical and respiratory needs. Subject to assessment, this may include support for tracheostomy care, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, COPD, neurological conditions, stroke rehabilitation, spinal injuries, acquired brain injury, MND, Parkinson’s disease and palliative or end-of-life care.
Care plans are personalised, clinically informed and reviewed regularly, so support can adapt as needs change. We work closely with families and relevant professionals to provide continuity, safety and reassurance.
Complex Residential Care
We support people with significant day-to-day needs who do not require 24-hour nursing care. This may include people living with long-term conditions, mobility difficulties, acquired brain injury, physical disability or other support needs.
The focus is on promoting independence wherever possible, maintaining routines, supporting wellbeing and helping residents feel safe, known and included.
Respite & Step-Down Support
We offer short-term stays subject to assessment and availability. Respite can support recovery after illness or hospital, provide planned relief for family carers, or allow time to consider longer-term care options.
Where needs are complex, we take time to understand the situation properly before admission, so any stay is safe, appropriate and reassuring for the resident and their family.
Nursing
Our nursing and care teams provide support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Care is guided by assessment and reviewed regularly, so support can adapt as needs change — from day-to-day wellbeing to more complex nursing requirements.
We work closely with families and relevant professionals to ensure continuity and clarity. Medication support and care planning are managed with care and consistency, with residents’ comfort, privacy and dignity always respected. Meadowside & St. Francis embrace the need for change, ensuring that the best possible care can be provided to all of our residents.
Palliative and End-of-Life Care
We are proud to hold Six Steps+ accreditation with St Luke’s Hospice, reflecting our ongoing commitment to compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care.
Wellbeing alongside care
We believe wellbeing is part of good care. Alongside clinical support and personalised care plans, we encourage day-to-day routines that support mobility, mood and confidence — from gentle movement and activities to time outdoors and social connection.
